Bio

Greg Howard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he has taught since 2017. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 2018 and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010. Before graduate school, he worked as a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Board. His research is in macroeconomics, urban and regional economics, with work on migration, housing markets, universities, local resilience, remote work, and attention. At UIUC he teaches international macroeconomics and advises Ph.D. students in macro and urban economics.
